Legal Tech

Welcome to my Legal Technology section. Here I try to provide some free and low cost tech resources for solo and small practitioners. Additionally, you’ll find some of the software projects I am working with and on.

OPDWorks – OPDWorks is an open-source Django project that permits users to export time and expense information from Clio into the Ohio Public Defender standard form. It also permits the manual entry of time and expenses for users who do not utilize Clio. My development of OPDWorks is on hiatus at the moment because the Office of the Public Defender has announced that they are developing new billing software and practices. I will, however, make the code available if any one wants it.

JudgmentKing – JudgmentKing is an open-source Python project to track attorney collections on judgments. The software permits collecting payments on multiple judgments, creating monthly settlement statements for each creditor and deducting the attorney’s agreed fees.
